 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Christopher Anthony Arcos of Boy Scouts of America
 Troop No. 40 in Houston attained the rank of Eagle Scout and his
 accomplishment was recognized at a Court of Honor ceremony on
 February 23, 2008; and
 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
 honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
 scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
 criteria, Mr. Arcos earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
 successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his
 community; moreover, he has served his troop in a variety of
 leadership positions, including chaplain, quartermaster, and
 senior patrol leader; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Anthony and Maritza Arcos, this fine
 young Texan graduated from S. P. Waltrip High School and currently
 attends Sam Houston State University; the recipient of a Houston
 Livestock Show and Rodeo Opportunity Scholarship and a LULAC
 scholarship, Mr. Arcos plans to major in political science and
 criminal justice; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his scouting career, the dedication to
 excellence and the perseverance in the pursuit of his goals that Mr.
 Arcos has demonstrated have proven him worthy to stand among
 scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well
 done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Christopher Anthony Arcos on
 achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Arcos as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
