| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The 75th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | cause for celebration, and The Honorable Glenn E. Breazeale of Ore |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | City is commemorating this important milestone on April 11, 2009; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In 1934, Glenn Breazeale was born to Wyatt and Katie |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Breazeale near Ore City in Upshur County, Texas, where the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Breazeale family lived; as a young boy, he attended elementary |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | school in Ore City and went on to graduate from Diana High School |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and later from Tyler Commercial College; he answered his nation's |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | call to duty and served in the U.S. Navy as a communications |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | technician from 1953 until 1957 and was stationed in Japan and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Charleston, South Carolina; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Breazeale retired from a long and fulfilling |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | career in the shipping department at Lone Star Steel; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Mr. Breazeale began |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | serving on the Ore City Council and in 2001 was elected to his first |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | term as mayor of Ore City; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Breazeale has also taken on roles with numerous |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | other civic organizations, including volunteering at nursing homes |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in his community, and was named the 2007 Upshur County Outstanding |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Citizen of the Year; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Breazeale has served his Lord and his community |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | faithfully for decades, working in the background to help those in |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | need, and he is a valued member of First Methodist Church of Ore |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | City; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Breazeale enjoys the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | love and affection of his three children, Kelly Breazeale of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Australia, Gregory Breazeale of Dallas, and Wesley Breazeale of San |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Antonio, and his three grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Glenn E. Breazeale has made lasting contributions |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | to Ore City, and he has justly garnered the respect and admiration |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | of his neighbors, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Legislature hereby honor Glenn E. Breazeale on the occasion of his |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 75th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | success and happiness; and, be it further |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|

|---|
