H.R. No. 1278
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont, a student at Jefferson Middle School
in Helotes, has been selected to take part in the 2009 Lone Star
Leadership Academy of the Education in Action program in Houston
and Galveston; and
WHEREAS, Education in Action helps young Texans to become
informed and engaged members of their communities, and every summer
the organization sponsors the Lone Star Leadership Academy; the
program develops the leadership skills of exceptional students in
grades five through eight while also conducting field trips to a
number of notable sites in the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, The son of Ronnie and Alisa Thienpont, Troy earned
admittance into the Lone Star Leadership Academy through his
outstanding academic record, demonstrated leadership ability, and
community involvement; his participation in the academy represents
a new level of achievement by this outstanding young Texan; and
WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont's hard work and commitment to
excellence are certain to open the way to many opportunities for him
in the future, and he may indeed take great pride in his admission
to this prestigious program; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Troy Thienpont on his acceptance to
the 2009 Lone Star Leadership Academy and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Thienpont as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
