44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont, a student at Jefferson Middle School
66 in Helotes, has been selected to take part in the 2009 Lone Star
77 Leadership Academy of the Education in Action program in Houston
88 and Galveston; and
99 WHEREAS, Education in Action helps young Texans to become
1010 informed and engaged members of their communities, and every summer
1111 the organization sponsors the Lone Star Leadership Academy; the
1212 program develops the leadership skills of exceptional students in
1313 grades five through eight while also conducting field trips to a
1414 number of notable sites in the Lone Star State; and
1515 WHEREAS, The son of Ronnie and Alisa Thienpont, Troy earned
1616 admittance into the Lone Star Leadership Academy through his
1717 outstanding academic record, demonstrated leadership ability, and
1818 community involvement; his participation in the academy represents
1919 a new level of achievement by this outstanding young Texan; and
2020 WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont's hard work and commitment to
2121 excellence are certain to open the way to many opportunities for him
2222 in the future, and he may indeed take great pride in his admission
2323 to this prestigious program; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Troy Thienpont on his acceptance to
2626 the 2009 Lone Star Leadership Academy and extend to him sincere best
2727 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Mr. Thienpont as an expression of high regard by the
3030 Texas House of Representatives.
