| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont, a student at Jefferson Middle School |

| 6 | 6 | | in Helotes, has been selected to take part in the 2009 Lone Star |

| 7 | 7 | | Leadership Academy of the Education in Action program in Houston |

| 8 | 8 | | and Galveston; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Education in Action helps young Texans to become |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | informed and engaged members of their communities, and every summer |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the organization sponsors the Lone Star Leadership Academy; the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | program develops the leadership skills of exceptional students in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | grades five through eight while also conducting field trips to a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | number of notable sites in the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The son of Ronnie and Alisa Thienpont, Troy earned |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | admittance into the Lone Star Leadership Academy through his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | outstanding academic record, demonstrated leadership ability, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | community involvement; his participation in the academy represents |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | a new level of achievement by this outstanding young Texan; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont's hard work and commitment to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | excellence are certain to open the way to many opportunities for him |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in the future, and he may indeed take great pride in his admission |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to this prestigious program; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
