| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Caitlin Magill, captain of the Marquettes drill team |

| 6 | 6 | | at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, turned in an outstanding |

| 7 | 7 | | performance at the Crowd Pleasers Fossil Ridge dance team |

| 8 | 8 | | competition on February 21, 2009; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In a demonstration of precision and grace, Ms. |

| 10 | 10 | | Magill distinguished herself from the field of 100 solo performers |

| 11 | 11 | | by finishing as second runner-up at the competition; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The Marquettes made a fine showing in team events as |

| 13 | 13 | | well; they took home the Overall Technical Merit Award, the Grand |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Champion Large Team Award, and three choreography awards in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | addition to other honors; moreover, the Marcus High team excelled |

| 16 | 16 | | in the officer performances, and both the officer and team |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | competitors earned a spot in the Elite Circle, which includes the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | event's top five teams; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Magill and the other Marquettes are led by |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | director Alice Dack, whose assured guidance has helped inspire the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | team members to reach the peak of their abilities; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, With her accomplishments at the Crowd Pleasers |

| 23 | 23 | | Fossil Ridge event, Caitlin Magill further distinguished herself as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | a skilled performer, and she may reflect with pride on a job well |

| 25 | 25 | | done; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
