| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The retirement of a committed public servant is well |

| 6 | 6 | | deserving of recognition; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A dedicated and broad-visioned individual, Mr. |

| 8 | 8 | | Joseph Paniagua has shaped the course of public safety and public |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | events in the city of Fort Worth for over 22 years in many |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | capacities, most recently as first assistant city manager; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Because of his leadership, the success of such |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | important projects as the expansion of the City Convention Center, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | construction of a new convention center hotel, the development of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | new traffic divisions and fire stations, and the Rosedale District |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | were successful; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Paniagua's diplomacy and talent for navigating |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the waters of state and federal programs are assets that will be |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | sorely missed; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Joe, a native Texan, and his wife, Elsa, have two |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | children, Jose Francisco and Elissa; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby warmly congratulate Joe Paniagua on the occasion |

| 23 | 23 | | of his retirement, thank him for his dedicated service, and extend |

| 24 | 24 | | to him best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
