44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Dedicated philanthropists from across the state are
66 gathering in Austin on April 22, 2009, to commemorate Texas Charity
77 Advocates Day at the State Capitol; and
88 WHEREAS, Established in 2005, TCA is devoted to the
99 betterment of Texas charities, and since its inception it has
1010 increased its membership from 20 to nearly 300 organizations; these
1111 groups provide a wide array of services, and they exist to meet the
1212 needs of diverse populations and communities throughout Texas; and
1313 WHEREAS, A powerful voice for its member organizations, TCA
1414 works to unite these groups under their shared mission to bring
1515 vital aid to the citizens of Texas; TCA has also helped raise funds
1616 through charitable bingo games and other efforts, and it continues
1717 to encourage statewide support and raise awareness among the public
1818 about the positive results that can be achieved through charitable
1919 endeavors; and
2020 WHEREAS, Texas Charity Advocates has demonstrated an
2121 unwavering commitment to philanthropy, and in so doing, it has
2222 benefited countless individuals in the Lone Star State; now,
2323 therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby recognize April 22, 2009, as Texas Charity
2626 Advocates Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those
2727 associated with TCA sincere best wishes for continued success with
2828 their important work; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Texas Charity Advocates as an expression of high
3131 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
