| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated philanthropists from across the state are |

| 6 | 6 | | gathering in Austin on April 22, 2009, to commemorate Texas Charity |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Advocates Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2005, TCA is devoted to the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | betterment of Texas charities, and since its inception it has |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | increased its membership from 20 to nearly 300 organizations; these |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | groups provide a wide array of services, and they exist to meet the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | needs of diverse populations and communities throughout Texas; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A powerful voice for its member organizations, TCA |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | works to unite these groups under their shared mission to bring |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | vital aid to the citizens of Texas; TCA has also helped raise funds |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | through charitable bingo games and other efforts, and it continues |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to encourage statewide support and raise awareness among the public |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | about the positive results that can be achieved through charitable |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | endeavors; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Texas Charity Advocates has demonstrated an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | unwavering commitment to philanthropy, and in so doing, it has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | benefited countless individuals in the Lone Star State; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby recognize April 22, 2009, as Texas Charity |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Advocates Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | associated with TCA sincere best wishes for continued success with |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | their important work; and, be it further |
|---|
