44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, After serving his country in Iraq, U.S. Marine
66 Corporal Daniel J. Garcia of Ben Bolt returned to the Lone Star
77 State on February 18, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Daniel Garcia graduated from Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco
99 High School in 2005, and he enlisted in the United States Marine
1010 Corps in December of that year; he served his first tour of duty in
1111 Iraq as an intelligence analyst with Regional Combat Team 1, and his
1212 steadfast courage earned him a Meritorious Mast; and
1313 WHEREAS, Corporal Garcia has been welcomed home eagerly and
1414 with great pride by his wife, Sonia Garcia, his daughter, Jade
1515 Elizabeth Garcia, his mother, Isabel Garcia, his brothers, Kevin
1616 and Homer Garcia, his grandmother, Blaza Lopez, and his
1717 parents-in-law, Robert and Irma Rangel, as well as numerous other
1818 friends and relatives; and
1919 WHEREAS, Through his unfaltering devotion to duty, honor, and
2020 this nation, Corporal Garcia embodies the highest ideals of the
2121 U.S. armed forces, and he is a tremendous source of pride to all who
2222 know him; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby commend Corporal Daniel J. Garcia for his
2525 bravery and dedication and extend to him sincere appreciation for
2626 his outstanding military service; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Corporal Garcia as an expression of high regard by the
2929 Texas House of Representatives.
