| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, After serving his country in Iraq, U.S. Marine |

| 6 | 6 | | Corporal Daniel J. Garcia of Ben Bolt returned to the Lone Star |

| 7 | 7 | | State on February 18, 2009; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Garcia graduated from Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco |

| 9 | 9 | | High School in 2005, and he enlisted in the United States Marine |

| 10 | 10 | | Corps in December of that year; he served his first tour of duty in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Iraq as an intelligence analyst with Regional Combat Team 1, and his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | steadfast courage earned him a Meritorious Mast; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Corporal Garcia has been welcomed home eagerly and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | with great pride by his wife, Sonia Garcia, his daughter, Jade |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Elizabeth Garcia, his mother, Isabel Garcia, his brothers, Kevin |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and Homer Garcia, his grandmother, Blaza Lopez, and his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | parents-in-law, Robert and Irma Rangel, as well as numerous other |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | friends and relatives; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through his unfaltering devotion to duty, honor, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | this nation, Corporal Garcia embodies the highest ideals of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | U.S. armed forces, and he is a tremendous source of pride to all who |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | know him; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby commend Corporal Daniel J. Garcia for his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | bravery and dedication and extend to him sincere appreciation for |

| 26 | 26 | | his outstanding military service; and, be it further |
