| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The selection for promotion of Chris Ward of the |

| 6 | 6 | | United States Air Force to the rank of major provides a fitting |

| 7 | 7 | | opportunity to recognize his dedication to duty and his |

| 8 | 8 | | contributions to the defense of our nation; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Mary Rodgers Ward of Granbury and the late |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Tommy Franklin Ward, Jr., Chris Ward graduated from Granbury High |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | School in 1995 and from the Air Force Academy in 2000; he went on to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | further his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | master's degree in 2008; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Captain Ward completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and is currently stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Massachusetts with his wife, Mary Jenny Ward, a fellow graduate of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Air Force Academy; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Chris Ward embodies the Air Force ideals of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | integrity, service, and excellence, and it is a pleasure to join in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | congratulating him on achieving this noteworthy milestone in his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | military career; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby commend U.S. Air Force Captain Chris Ward on the |

| 24 | 24 | | occasion of his selection for promotion and extend to him sincere |
