H.R. No. 1361 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A 103rd birthday is truly cause for celebration, and Antonio Campos of Houston celebrated this very special event in his life on June 13, 2008; and WHEREAS, Born in Mexico in 1905, Antonio Campos moved to the United States with his family in 1916; he helped raise his siblings after his parents passed away that same year, working as a field laborer for his uncle and on a neighboring farm; despite his other responsibilities, he found the time to teach himself to read and write; and WHEREAS, Mr. Campos raised six children and was employed in the construction industry in San Antonio, where he earned a reputation as an outstanding worker; since retiring, he enjoys gardening in his backyard and visiting the Oak Forest Neighborhood Library; he is an active member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community, and his fellow parishioners have honored him by raising funds and purchasing a bench in his honor; and WHEREAS, After more than a century of enriching experiences and meaningful accomplishments, Antonio Campos is a source of wisdom and inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Antonio Campos for 103 years of life well lived and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Campos as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
