| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |

| 6 | 6 | | meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of William Butcher of Houston, who passed away on July 4, 2007, at |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the age of 69; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Bill Butcher was the son |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of William and Lucy Butcher; he graduated from Spring Branch High |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | School in 1956 and went on to serve a notable 30-year tenure as a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | building inspector with the City of Houston; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Butcher was devoted to his family; he shared |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | nearly half a century of marriage with his wife, Brenda, with whom |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he had three children, John, Mary Ann, and Bridget; in his free |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | time, he enjoyed doting on his grandchildren, hunting with his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | brother, traveling with his wife, and cheering on the Houston |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Astros; he was also a valued member of Spring Branch Community |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Although Bill Butcher is deeply missed, memories of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | this beloved Texan will be forever cherished by all those who held |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Butcher and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Brenda; to his son, John Butcher; to his daughters, Mary Ann |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Henderson and her husband, Steve, and Bridget Todd and her husband, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Toby; to his grandchildren; to his brother, Charles Butcher, and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | his wife, Terry; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, |
