55 WHEREAS, Kaileigh Castillo, a senior at Communications Arts
66 High School in San Antonio, has deservedly been named a scholar
77 finalist in the 2008-2009 National Hispanic Recognition Program;

99 WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board, the National
1010 Hispanic Recognition Program honors those Hispanic students who
1111 score well on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying
1212 Test and who maintain a satisfactory grade point average; and
1313 WHEREAS, The daughter of Gabriel Castillo, this outstanding
1414 young Texan is a member of the student council and devotes time to
1515 teaching Sunday school at St. Jude Catholic Church; moreover, she
1616 is a dedicated student who has a 96.78 grade point average, and she
1717 plans to further her education at the University of Arizona; and
1818 WHEREAS, Soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in her
1919 life, Kaileigh Castillo may indeed reflect with pride on her
2020 numerous accomplishments and look with anticipation toward a bright
2121 and promising future; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2323 Legislature hereby congratulate Kaileigh Castillo on her selection
2424 as a scholar finalist in the 2008-2009 National Hispanic
2525 Recognition Program and extend to her sincere best wishes for
2626 continued success; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Ms. Castillo as an expression of high regard by the
2929 Texas House of Representatives.
