5	5	WHEREAS, Members of the Odessa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
6	6	are visiting the State Capitol on April 21, 2009, and their
7	7	attendance provides a fitting opportunity to recognize the
8	8	achievements of the organization; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Founded in 1976 as the Odessa Mexican American
10	10	Chamber of Commerce, this notable group aims to unify its West Texas
11	11	community while promoting the growth and advancement of area
12	12	commerce; and
13	13	WHEREAS, The chamber emphasizes support of small business,
14	14	leadership development, and youth development; in an effort to
15	15	achieve this goal, members work closely with the City of Odessa, the
16	16	Odessa Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Administration,
17	17	Odessa College, LULAC, and a number of civic organizations; and
18	18	WHEREAS, Since its founding, the Odessa Hispanic Chamber of
19	19	Commerce has rendered invaluable assistance to countless
20	20	individuals and contributed immeasurably to a robust business
21	21	environment in the Permian Basin; now, therefore, be it
22	22	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
23	23	Legislature hereby welcome members of the Odessa Hispanic Chamber
24	24	of Commerce to the State Capitol and extend to them sincere best
25	25	wishes for continued success; and, be it further
26	26	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
27	27	prepared for the Odessa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as an
28	28	expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
