| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward and Margery Grimes of Mineola commemorated |

| 6 | 6 | | their 50th wedding anniversary on May 19, 2008, and they may indeed |

| 7 | 7 | | reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |

| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Grimes and the former Margery Norris were joined |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in matrimony on that special day in 1958 at a ceremony held in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Tyler; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | family that includes two sons, Roy and Mark Grimes, two daughters, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Karen Webb and Dawn Grimes, as well as nine grandchildren and four |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the couple are |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | congregants of Harvest Acres Baptist Church; Mr. Grimes worked for |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Union Pacific Railroad for 37 years before his retirement, while |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Mrs. Grimes retired after 20 years of employment with Southwestern |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Bell Telephone Company and nine years working for Wal-Mart; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |

| 21 | 21 | | half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Edward and Margery Grimes on the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them |

| 28 | 28 | | sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
