| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 6 | 6 | | love and shared experiences, and Paul McDonald, Jr., and Connie |

| 7 | 7 | | McDonald of Bedford celebrated this joyous milestone in their |

| 8 | 8 | | marriage on March 20, 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First Lieutenant Kermit Paul McDonald, Jr., and the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | former Connie Lynn Short exchanged vows on that special day in 1959; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | they count among their blessings a treasured family that includes |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | three children and their spouses, Jeff McDonald, Pat and Karen |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | McDonald, and Kari and Doug Brunswick, as well as grandchildren |

| 14 | 14 | | Kali, Samantha, Krista, Laurel, Will, Ben, and Max; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1977, Mr. |

| 16 | 16 | | McDonald was employed with Braniff International Airways and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | American Airlines before retiring in 1997; Mrs. McDonald has been a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This devoted couple have shared five decades of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | abiding love and mutual affection, and they are among an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Paul McDonald, Jr., and Connie |

| 25 | 25 | | McDonald on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
