55 WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
66 love and shared experiences, and Paul McDonald, Jr., and Connie
77 McDonald of Bedford celebrated this joyous milestone in their
88 marriage on March 20, 2009; and
99 WHEREAS, First Lieutenant Kermit Paul McDonald, Jr., and the
1010 former Connie Lynn Short exchanged vows on that special day in 1959;
1111 they count among their blessings a treasured family that includes
1212 three children and their spouses, Jeff McDonald, Pat and Karen
1313 McDonald, and Kari and Doug Brunswick, as well as grandchildren
1414 Kali, Samantha, Krista, Laurel, Will, Ben, and Max; and
1515 WHEREAS, After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1977, Mr.
1616 McDonald was employed with Braniff International Airways and
1717 American Airlines before retiring in 1997; Mrs. McDonald has been a
1818 dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and
1919 WHEREAS, This devoted couple have shared five decades of
2020 abiding love and mutual affection, and they are among an
2121 exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
2222 commitment; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby congratulate Paul McDonald, Jr., and Connie
2525 McDonald on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
2626 sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McDonald as an expression of high regard
2929 by the Texas House of Representatives.
