| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Houston Community College is dedicating the opening |

| 6 | 6 | | of its new Missouri City campus on May 26, 2009; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A 45,000-square-foot academic center serves as the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | cornerstone of the 50-acre master-planned site; this fine |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | educational facility accommodates 2,162 students in 22 classrooms, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 13 lecture rooms, 7 multipurpose rooms, and a science laboratory; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The school is also partnering with the community and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Fort Bend County to provide students and local residents with a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | joint library facility; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A college education is often the foundation on which |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a successful career is built, and Houston Community College is to be |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | commended for its efforts to bring this opportunity within the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | reach of students throughout the Bayou City and beyond; now, |

| 19 | 19 | | therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the grand opening of the Missouri |

| 22 | 22 | | City campus of Houston Community College and extend to all those |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | associated with the institution sincere best wishes for much |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | success in the years to come; and, be it further |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
