| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Chief Rick McCoy of the Crane Police Department is |

| 6 | 6 | | retiring on May 31, 2009, after an outstanding career in law |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | enforcement that has spanned more than three decades; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the Crane Police Department 25 years |

| 9 | 9 | | ago, Chief McCoy has provided exceptional leadership and set an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | outstanding example of professional integrity; throughout his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | distinguished tenure, he has exemplified the highest ideals of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | law enforcement profession and contributed immeasurably to the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | safety and well-being of his fellow Texans; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Chief McCoy and his wife, Pattie, have been valued |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | residents of the city of Crane; they are leaving the Lone Star State |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | for Arkansas, and their presence and many contributions will be |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | deeply missed by their friends and neighbors; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The dedicated service of Rick McCoy has greatly |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | benefited his community, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | notable accomplishments as he prepares to embark on the next |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby commend Chief Rick McCoy for his years of |

| 24 | 24 | | service to the Crane Police Department and extend to him sincere |

| 25 | 25 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
