H.R. No. 1497 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Kathy King Gilbert of Lake Dallas has been named the 2009 Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year; and WHEREAS, A registered dietician, Ms. Gilbert has been in private practice for nearly four decades and she has counseled more than 6,000 patients; in 1991, she established Helm Publishing, which provides continuing education credits for dieticians and nurses, and she also serves as an international speaker; she has contributed to her profession as president of the Colorado Dietetic Association and as a board member of the American Dietetic Association, and she is the recipient of an Award of Excellence in the Practice of Consultation by the ADA; and WHEREAS, Ms. Gilbert has further distinguished herself as a dedicated member of her community; she shares her time and talents with such organizations as the Lake Cities Education Foundation, the Lake Cities United Methodist Church Footprints Preschool, and the Lake Cities Lions Club, which she served as president; moreover, she is a longtime volunteer at the Golden Agers Senior Citizens Dinner and, through her business, she participates in annual Lake Dallas Main Street activities; and WHEREAS, Kathy King Gilbert's enthusiasm and generosity are helping to make the Lake Cities area an even better place to live and work, and it is a pleasure to join in commending her for her outstanding efforts in behalf of her fellow residents; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Kathy King Gilbert on being named the 2009 Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Gilbert as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
