| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Kathy King Gilbert of Lake Dallas has been named the |

| 6 | 6 | | 2009 Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A registered dietician, Ms. Gilbert has been in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | private practice for nearly four decades and she has counseled more |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | than 6,000 patients; in 1991, she established Helm Publishing, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | which provides continuing education credits for dieticians and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | nurses, and she also serves as an international speaker; she has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | contributed to her profession as president of the Colorado Dietetic |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Association and as a board member of the American Dietetic |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Association, and she is the recipient of an Award of Excellence in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the Practice of Consultation by the ADA; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Gilbert has further distinguished herself as a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | dedicated member of her community; she shares her time and talents |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with such organizations as the Lake Cities Education Foundation, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Lake Cities United Methodist Church Footprints Preschool, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Lake Cities Lions Club, which she served as president; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | moreover, she is a longtime volunteer at the Golden Agers Senior |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Citizens Dinner and, through her business, she participates in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | annual Lake Dallas Main Street activities; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Kathy King Gilbert's enthusiasm and generosity are |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | helping to make the Lake Cities area an even better place to live |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and work, and it is a pleasure to join in commending her for her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | outstanding efforts in behalf of her fellow residents; now, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Kathy King Gilbert on being named |

| 31 | 31 | | the 2009 Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year and |
