55 WHEREAS, The counseling team at El Dorado High School in El
66 Paso has earned the CREST award from the Texas School Counselor
77 Association; and
88 WHEREAS, CREST, which stands for Counselors Reinforcing
99 Excellence for Students in Texas, is an awards program designed to
1010 recognize outstanding school counseling programs throughout the
1111 Lone Star State; and
1212 WHEREAS, Truly deserving recipients of this accolade, the El
1313 Dorado High School team includes Lucy Caballero, Dianna Enriquez,
1414 Mary Golden, Sylvia Gonzalez, Alicia O'Quinn, Mark Parra, Martin
1515 Sanchez, Johnny Terrazas, and Sonia Ugarte-Gil; and
1616 WHEREAS, These dedicated individuals have worked to foster
1717 the social and emotional growth of students to help them succeed
1818 academically and personally; by focusing on the total child, they
1919 have helped students develop interpersonal relationship,
2020 problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills that will be
2121 important throughout each individual's life; and
2222 WHEREAS, Children are our most valuable resource, and those
2323 who labor in behalf of the youth of Texas are making a firm
2424 investment in the future of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be
2525 it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2727 Legislature hereby congratulate the counseling team of El Dorado
2828 High School on earning the CREST award and extend to them sincere
2929 best wishes for continued success with their important work; and,
3030 be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3333 House of Representatives.
