 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The 63rd birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
 cause for celebration, and Gwendolynn J. Murray of Dallas is
 commemorating this noteworthy occasion on May 1, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, A sixth-generation Texan, Ms. Murray was born in San
 Antonio in 1946; she attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and
 earned her bachelor's degree in child development and family
 relations; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Murray has shared a fulfilling relationship of
 40 years with her husband, Kipp Murray, and the couple's life
 together has been further enriched by a family that includes their
 daughter, Megan, their son, Reed, and their daughter-in-law, Alex,
 as well as twin granddaughters; and
 WHEREAS, For seven years, Ms. Murray was employed by American
 Petrofina; more recently, she became a charter board member of High
 Adventure Treks for Dads and Daughters, a nonprofit corporation
 founded by her husband to build strong bonds between fathers and
 daughters through outdoor activities; and
 WHEREAS, This devoted wife and mother has also demonstrated
 her commitment to the wider community, giving generously of her
 time and talent in key roles in numerous civic and charitable
 organizations; and
 WHEREAS, Gwendolynn Murray has greatly enhanced the lives of
 her family and many friends, and she has earned a special place in
 the hearts of all who are fortunate enough to know her; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Gwendolynn Murray on the occasion
 of her 63rd birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for
 continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Murray as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
