| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Katie Grandle of Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande has |

| 6 | 6 | | attained the Gold Award, the highest commendation in Girl Scouting; |

| 7 | 7 | | and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Gold Award is a significant honor, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | received by only a small fraction of those who are eligible; to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | achieve this distinction, a young woman must meet requirements that |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | promote community service, personal growth, positive values, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | leadership skills; in addition, she must plan and implement a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | special Girl Scout Gold Award project that meets a need in her |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Grandle has proven herself to be an exemplary |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and productive member of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | great pride on her commitment to excellence and her perseverance in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the pursuit of her goals; now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 20 | 20 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Katie Grandle on her receipt of the |

| 21 | 21 | | Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her best wishes for the coming |

| 22 | 22 | | years; and, be it further |
