| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Timothy |

| 6 | 6 | | William Murphy of Rockport, who died on April 12, 2009, at the age |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of 45; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Tim Murphy was born in San Antonio on July 7, 1963, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to Walter J. and Mary Jane Murphy; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Murphy was active with the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Pawnbrokers, serving on the organization's board of directors and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | as chair of the legislative committee; for his work with the Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Legislature on behalf of his profession, he was twice awarded the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Legislative Bulldog Award; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Known as Big Tim, Mr. Murphy was an avid outdoorsman |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | who hosted Big Tim's Annual Dove Hunt in Eagle Pass; he often |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | volunteered to accompany wounded soldiers on fishing trips during |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Warriors Weekend; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Warm, generous, and big-hearted, Tim Murphy was |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | devoted to his family and friends, and though his life ended far too |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | soon, the memory of his enthusiasm and joyful spirit will live |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him; now, therefore, |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Timothy William |
