H.R. No. 1630 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Michael Jeffrey Bosworth II is graduating from the United States Naval Academy on May 22, 2009; and WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Bosworth was born on August 19, 1986, in Houston; he attended Dripping Springs High School, and his scholastic and athletic abilities earned him a spot on the Elite Academic All-State Football Team as well as the Scholar-Athlete Award from the Greater Austin Chapter of the National Football Foundation; and WHEREAS, This notable young Texan graduated with Distinguished Achievement and, in 2005, he was granted appointment by Senator John Cornyn to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; while studying for his degree in computer science, he continued his record of academic and athletic achievement, earning election to the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society in the Computing and Information Disciplines, receiving the John S. Degnan '52 Award for Most Outstanding Freshman on the USNA Sprint football team and serving as an offensive lineman for the 2006 First-Team All-Collegiate Sprint Football League; and WHEREAS, Mr. Bosworth plans to attend flight training in Pensacola, Florida, and continue his service to his country as a navy pilot; and WHEREAS, With his graduation from the Naval Academy, Michael Bosworth joins the ranks of an elite group, and his achievement is a source of great pride to all who know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Jeffrey Bosworth II on his graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Bosworth as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
