5	5	WHEREAS, Robert Mark Spears has distinguished himself
6	6	through his notable service to the Denton County Sheriff's Office;
7	7	and
8	8	WHEREAS, Mark Spears began his law enforcement career in 1984
9	9	as a jailer for the Dallas County Sheriff's Office; he went on to
10	10	hold various positions, including patrol supervisor, narcotics
11	11	investigator, and CID supervisor with both Dallas and Parker
12	12	Counties; in 1994, he joined the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office
13	13	and built a solid reputation as a highway interdiction agent; and
14	14	WHEREAS, Since March 2008, Deputy Spears has been a dedicated
15	15	member of the Denton County Sheriff's Office; for five months, he
16	16	worked on an undercover investigation conducted by the department
17	17	and federal authorities, and he proved instrumental to the success
18	18	of the operation; his intuition, bravery, and quick responses
19	19	helped secure the apprehension of seven drug dealers who were
20	20	subsequently charged with bribery, money laundering, and criminal
21	21	conspiracy; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Deputy Spears demonstrated great skill and
23	23	professionalism while engaged in a potentially dangerous endeavor,
24	24	and in so doing, he has made a significant contribution to the
25	25	safety and security of Denton County residents; now, therefore, be
26	26	it
27	27	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
28	28	Legislature hereby commend Robert Mark Spears for his outstanding
29	29	efforts as a Denton County deputy sheriff and extend to him sincere
30	30	best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
31	31	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
32	32	prepared for Deputy Spears as an expression of high regard by the
33	33	Texas House of Representatives.
