| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Melton and Julie Connell of Woodway |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 14, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2007; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Melton O. Connell and the former Julie Halencak were |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | joined in matrimony at First Baptist Church in Quanah on that |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | special day in 1947; through the years, they have been blessed with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | a treasured family that includes a son, Michael Connell and his |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | wife, Cindy, and their grandchildren, Cari Edison and her husband, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Ricky, Cayce Connell, and Chance Connell; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Connell |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | is retired from the Waco Weather Bureau as a meteorologist and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Mrs. Connell worked as a physician's office nurse until her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | retirement; in addition to meeting their career and family |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | responsibilities, they have been members of First Baptist Church of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Woodway since 1958, and Mrs. Connell has taught Sunday school for |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | most of those years; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Connell have enjoyed more than six |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Melton and Julie Connell on the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | noteworthy milestone of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend |

| 29 | 29 | | to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
