H.R. No. 1696 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Members of the Oak Forest Montessori School community are visiting the State Capitol on April 29, 2009; and WHEREAS, Located in Longview, the Oak Forest Montessori School is guided by a philosophy of education that emphasizes the unique potential of each child, and it seeks to provide its students with a carefully planned, stimulating environment in which they will cultivate a natural curiosity and desire to learn; this notable institution also aims to prepare children to become compassionate and responsible citizens of tomorrow; and WHEREAS, Along with Teresa Arrington, a teacher at Oak Forest Montessori, the group that is gathering in Austin includes the following pupils: Katy Busker, Maggie Busker, Meredith Freeman, Sebastian Hernandez, Kamryn Jones, Myshia Jones, Valerie Macedo, Sarah Mitchell, Zachery Perkins, and Selim Sobhy; moreover, these young Texans will be accompanied by their parents and siblings: John and Mari Busker; Amber Freeman; Stephen, Ashley, and Cooper Freeman; Aaron, Asalia, and Sammy Hernandez; Marshall Jones; Ontoniel, Kim, and Alexander Macedo; Trace and Michele Havard; David and Diane Perkins; and Medhat, Randa, and Farida Sobhy; and WHEREAS, The Texas Capitol is an ideal setting for students to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and to gain insight into the workings of the state legislature, and it is a pleasure to recognize the members of the Oak Forest Montessori School community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby welcome the group from the Oak Forest Montessori School and extend to them sincere best wishes for a memorable and educational experience; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Oak Forest Montessori School as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
