5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |

6 | 6 | | memories of Lisa Veitenheimer of Keller, who passed away on April 7, |
---|
7 | 7 | | 2009, at the age of 49; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on May 4, 1959, in Madison, Wisconsin, Mrs. |
---|
9 | 9 | | Veitenheimer earned her bachelor's degree in education from |
---|
10 | 10 | | Midwestern State University in 1981; she went on to serve with |
---|
11 | 11 | | distinction as a second-grade teacher in the Eanes Independent |
---|
12 | 12 | | School District in Austin; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, After a notable 17-year tenure, she relocated to |
---|
14 | 14 | | Canyon, where she worked as a substitute teacher and her husband, |
---|
15 | 15 | | James Veitenheimer, served as superintendent; the couple moved |
---|
16 | 16 | | again in 2004, when Mr. Veitenheimer was named superintendent of |
---|
17 | 17 | | Keller schools; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Veitenheimer had a passion for education and a |
---|
19 | 19 | | gift for inspiring others, and she assisted many people who were in |
---|
20 | 20 | | need of extra help; she devoted many hours to mentoring new teachers |
---|
21 | 21 | | and to tutoring struggling students, seeking to enhance the |
---|
22 | 22 | | abilities and engage the minds of all she met; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Veitenheimer also shared her time with the |
---|
24 | 24 | | Keller ISD Education Foundation, which provides grants to teachers |
---|
25 | 25 | | and significant educational benefits to students; a founding member |
---|
26 | 26 | | of its board of directors, she aided in the formation and operation |
---|
27 | 27 | | of the foundation from 2004 until the time of her passing; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Lisa Veitenheimer's dynamic presence and positive |
---|
29 | 29 | | spirit brought enthusiasm and ideas to Keller schools; she |
---|
30 | 30 | | encouraged and supported teachers and students to grow in their |
---|
31 | 31 | | scholastic endeavors, to think in new ways, and to offer their best |
---|
32 | 32 | | efforts each day; she lived a caring and purposeful life, and she |
---|
33 | 33 | | will always be remembered with great affection and admiration; now, |
---|
34 | 34 | | therefore, be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
---|
36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lisa Veitenheimer and |
---|
37 | 37 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
---|
38 | 38 | | husband, James Veitenheimer; to her daughter, Allison |
---|
39 | 39 | | Veitenheimer; to her parents, John and Diane Franklin; and to her |
---|
40 | 40 | | other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
---|
41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

42 | 42 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |

43 | 43 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lisa |
