44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Jonathan Lietzke of Austin has led a life of
66 scholarship and achievement, and he has added to his myriad
77 accomplishments through his service at the State Capitol in the
88 office of Representative Joseph E. Moody; and
99 WHEREAS, "J. J." Lietzke was born on November 24, 1987, to
1010 Sofia Galan and James Lietzke; he attended Austin High School,
1111 where he enjoyed and excelled in athletics and academics, and
1212 following graduation, he went on to pursue a degree in business
1313 administration at Texas Tech University; he is a leader both on and
1414 off campus, and his academic achievements have earned him a place on
1515 the President's List on three occasions as well as on the Dean's
1616 List; in addition, he is an active member of Alpha Xi Delta of Chi
1717 Psi fraternity and serves as chair of its committee on risk
1818 management; and
1919 WHEREAS, Mr. Lietzke's sincerity, compassion, outgoing
2020 personality, and sense of humor have helped him to take advantage of
2121 many positive opportunities in his lifetime, including a year of
2222 study in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where he made many lifelong
2323 friends and expanded his understanding of other cultures; he is
2424 also regarded by some of his acquaintances as a modern-day hero
2525 whose various chivalrous exploits have included putting himself in
2626 harm's way to rescue a young lady from being seriously injured in a
2727 rock slide; and
2828 WHEREAS, During his tenure as a participant in the Texas
2929 Legislative Internship Program, Mr. Lietzke has embraced the
3030 opportunity to learn all he can from the many people he has come to
3131 know in the course of his daily work; and
3232 WHEREAS, His skill and knowledge have allowed him to provide
3333 outstanding service to his employer; he consistently goes above and
3434 beyond with each of the assignments that he has been given,
3535 demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commendable sense of
3636 responsibility; his role in the office has expanded since he joined
3737 the staff, and he is admired by his coworkers as an insightful
3838 advisor, a diligent worker, and a trustworthy friend; and
3939 WHEREAS, A number of people have provided support to Mr.
4040 Lietzke in the course of his life and have helped him to become the
4141 person that he is today; in addition to his parents, they include
4242 Bill and Kelly Wallace, his fifth-grade teacher, Robert Cash, his
4343 high school soccer coach, Daryl Faulks, the president of Alpha Xi
4444 Delta of Chi Psi, Sergeant Kyle Green of the United States Marine
4545 Corps, and Samantha McFarland; and
4646 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has skillfully handled
4747 the challenges of serving in a busy office during the legislative
4848 session, and he may indeed look forward with anticipation and
4949 optimism toward a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
5050 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
5151 Legislature hereby honor Jonathan "J. J." Lietzke for his
5252 outstanding work as an intern in the office of Representative
5353 Joseph E. Moody and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
5454 success; and, be it further
5555 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5656 prepared for Mr. Lietzke as an expression of high regard by the
5757 Texas House of Representatives.
