5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jonathan Lietzke of Austin has led a life of |
---|
6 | 6 | | scholarship and achievement, and he has added to his myriad |
---|
7 | 7 | | accomplishments through his service at the State Capitol in the |
---|
8 | 8 | | office of Representative Joseph E. Moody; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, "J. J." Lietzke was born on November 24, 1987, to |
---|
10 | 10 | | Sofia Galan and James Lietzke; he attended Austin High School, |
---|
11 | 11 | | where he enjoyed and excelled in athletics and academics, and |
---|
12 | 12 | | following graduation, he went on to pursue a degree in business |
---|
13 | 13 | | administration at Texas Tech University; he is a leader both on and |
---|
14 | 14 | | off campus, and his academic achievements have earned him a place on |
---|
15 | 15 | | the President's List on three occasions as well as on the Dean's |
---|
16 | 16 | | List; in addition, he is an active member of Alpha Xi Delta of Chi |
---|
17 | 17 | | Psi fraternity and serves as chair of its committee on risk |
---|
18 | 18 | | management; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lietzke's sincerity, compassion, outgoing |
---|
20 | 20 | | personality, and sense of humor have helped him to take advantage of |
---|
21 | 21 | | many positive opportunities in his lifetime, including a year of |
---|
22 | 22 | | study in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, where he made many lifelong |
---|
23 | 23 | | friends and expanded his understanding of other cultures; he is |
---|
24 | 24 | | also regarded by some of his acquaintances as a modern-day hero |
---|
25 | 25 | | whose various chivalrous exploits have included putting himself in |
---|
26 | 26 | | harm's way to rescue a young lady from being seriously injured in a |
---|
27 | 27 | | rock slide; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, During his tenure as a participant in the Texas |
---|
29 | 29 | | Legislative Internship Program, Mr. Lietzke has embraced the |
---|
30 | 30 | | opportunity to learn all he can from the many people he has come to |
---|
31 | 31 | | know in the course of his daily work; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, His skill and knowledge have allowed him to provide |
---|
33 | 33 | | outstanding service to his employer; he consistently goes above and |
---|
34 | 34 | | beyond with each of the assignments that he has been given, |
---|
35 | 35 | | demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commendable sense of |
---|
36 | 36 | | responsibility; his role in the office has expanded since he joined |
---|
37 | 37 | | the staff, and he is admired by his coworkers as an insightful |
---|
38 | 38 | | advisor, a diligent worker, and a trustworthy friend; and |
---|
39 | 39 | | WHEREAS, A number of people have provided support to Mr. |
---|
40 | 40 | | Lietzke in the course of his life and have helped him to become the |
---|
41 | 41 | | person that he is today; in addition to his parents, they include |
---|
42 | 42 | | Bill and Kelly Wallace, his fifth-grade teacher, Robert Cash, his |
---|
43 | 43 | | high school soccer coach, Daryl Faulks, the president of Alpha Xi |
---|
44 | 44 | | Delta of Chi Psi, Sergeant Kyle Green of the United States Marine |
---|
45 | 45 | | Corps, and Samantha McFarland; and |
---|
46 | 46 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has skillfully handled |
---|
47 | 47 | | the challenges of serving in a busy office during the legislative |
---|
48 | 48 | | session, and he may indeed look forward with anticipation and |
---|
49 | 49 | | optimism toward a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
---|
50 | 50 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
---|
51 | 51 | | Legislature hereby honor Jonathan "J. J." Lietzke for his |
---|
52 | 52 | | outstanding work as an intern in the office of Representative |
---|
53 | 53 | | Joseph E. Moody and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
---|
54 | 54 | | success; and, be it further |

55 | 55 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
