No. 1711 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Cub Scout Pack 61 of Austin is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2009; and WHEREAS, Designed for boys in the first through fifth grades, the Cub Scout program promotes character development, spiritual growth, good citizenship, sportsmanship and fitness, family understanding, fun and adventure, and preparation for advancement into the Boy Scouts; and WHEREAS, The membership of Cub Scout Pack 61 is drawn primarily from the student body of Mills Elementary School in Austin; it was chartered by the Joe Dan Mills, Jr., PTA during the school's first year; and WHEREAS, Throughout the past decade, Cub Scout Pack 61 has provided boys with a strong foundation on which to build for future achievement, and all of its members, past and present, may take great pride in belonging to the original and only Cub Scout pack from Joe Dan Mills, Jr., Elementary School; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Cub Scout Pack 61 of Austin on its 10th anniversary and extend to its members and leaders sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Cub Scout Pack 61 as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
