H.R. No. 1775
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Dan and Helen Wiley of Temple
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 18, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Dan Wiley and the former Helen Seidl were united in
matrimony at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Houston in 1949;
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that
has been made even richer with the addition of a daughter and her
husband, Danean and Dave Myers, and a grandson, Jason Hogan; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wiley worked in the homebuilding business and
retired after 25 years; Mrs. Wiley is a homemaker; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dan and Helen Wiley on their 60th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Wiley as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
