| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Nick and Bertie Gandy of Temple |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on April 9, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Nick Gandy and the former Bertie Faye Helbert were |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | joined in matrimony on that special day in 1949; through the years, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes four |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | children, Nicky Dale Gandy, Glen Ray Gandy and his wife, Tamara, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Carol Estrada and her husband, Tony, and Brad Gandy, as well as |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Gandy is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | retired from Lone Star Gas after 45 years and also worked as a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | painter, and Mrs. Gandy is retired after working for Temple schools |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and the recreation department of the City of Temple; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gandy have enjoyed six decades of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Nick and Bertie Gandy on their 60th |

| 25 | 25 | | wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
