5	5	WHEREAS, Members of the National Association of Insurance and
6	6	Financial Advisors-Texas (NAIFA-Texas) are gathering in Austin on
7	7	January 27, 2009, for their legislative day at the Capitol,
8	8	providing a fitting opportunity to acknowledge this exemplary
9	9	organization on its 84th anniversary; and
10	10	WHEREAS, Founded in 1925, NAIFA-Texas, formerly known as the
11	11	Texas Association of Life Underwriters, is composed of more than
12	12	3,000 members statewide, making it the largest association of
13	13	financial and insurance professionals in the Lone Star State; the
14	14	group is dedicated to protecting the interests of families and
15	15	businesses by identifying risks and offering solutions for
16	16	financial independence; the association also promotes
17	17	communication, ethical conduct, governmental relations and
18	18	advocacy, networking, and public service while hosting conferences
19	19	and seminars; and
20	20	WHEREAS, The association currently benefits from the
21	21	leadership and expertise of president Earl A. Thompson, RFC, LUTCF
22	22	and the members of the Texas Leaders Round Table, representing the
23	23	top two percent of the state's life insurance producers; and
24	24	WHEREAS, NAIFA-Texas is a vital group of professionals who
25	25	consistently work in behalf of consumers and businesses to advance
26	26	financial independence and reliable insurance for all, and it is a
27	27	pleasure to recognize their important work at this time; now,
28	28	therefore, be it
29	29	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
30	30	Legislature hereby welcome members of the National Association of
31	31	Insurance and Financial Advisors-Texas to the State Capitol on the
32	32	occasion of NAIFA-Texas' 84th anniversary and commend its
33	33	membership for an excellent record of serving families and
34	34	businesses in the Lone Star State; and, be it further
35	35	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
36	36	prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
37	37	Texas House of Representatives.
