| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Judge Ernest Aliseda has received the Ethics Award |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | from the Hidalgo County Bar Association; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Ernie Aliseda |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and a recipient of the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Distinguished Student Award and the Distinguished Academic |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Military Student Award; he later earned a law degree from the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | University of Houston Law Center and went on to become a judge, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | serving in both the 139th and 398th District Courts in Hidalgo |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | County; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Having answered his nation's call to duty, this |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | esteemed Texan is currently a major in the United States Army Judge |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Advocate General Corps; as a supervising special assistant U.S. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | attorney, he is responsible for prosecuting all civilian criminal |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | felony and misdemeanor offenses in the federal courts of Fort Bragg |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and Pope Air Force Base and others; on conclusion of his military |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | service, Judge Aliseda will serve as a municipal judge for the City |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of McAllen; he also works as an attorney in private practice, and he |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | was the managing partner at Torres, Cantu, and Aliseda, P.C., and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the managing attorney at Dietz and Associates; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Judge Aliseda has maintained professional |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | affiliations with the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Hispanic |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | National Bar Association, and the State Bar of Texas, of which he |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | served as director of the South Texas region; in addition, he is a |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and served as a member of the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Texas Rural Legal Aid board, and as president of the Hidalgo County |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Bar Association and the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association; |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, he enjoys the love and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | support of his wife, Debbie Crane Aliseda, and the couple have been |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | blessed with five children, Cristina, Nicolas, Alexandra, Sofia, |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | and Natali; and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, A dedicated professional and a distinguished member |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | of the armed forces, Judge Ernest Aliseda has garnered the lasting |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | respect and admiration of his fellow citizens, and he may indeed |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | reflect with great pride on his notable achievements and |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Judge Ernest Aliseda on his receipt |

| 43 | 43 | | of the Ethics Award from the Hidalgo County Bar Association and |

| 44 | 44 | | commend him for his outstanding service to his country; and, be it |
