 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Ernesto J. Dominguez has received the John E. Cook
 Pro Bono Award from the Hidalgo County Bar Association; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Hondo on August 11, 1955, Ernesto Dominguez
 went on to earn a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at
 Austin in 1976 and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame in
 1986, and while he was a student, he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta
 Law Fraternity, International; in 1987, he was admitted to the
 State Bar of Texas, and he is currently an attorney with Orendain &
 Dominguez, a McAllen firm specializing in general civil trial
 practice, personal injury, insurance law, and family law; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Dominguez has maintained
 affiliations with the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American
 Association for Justice, the Hidalgo County Bar Association, the
 State Bar of Texas, and the College of the State Bar of Texas, and he
 served on the board of directors of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid from
 1998 through 2002; and
 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
 support of his wife, Iris Aguilar Dominguez, who is also a lawyer
 and practices with the office of the city attorney in McAllen; the
 couple have been blessed with a daughter, Paloma Alexandra
 Dominguez, a student at Our Lady of Sorrows, and Mr. Dominguez has
 served as president of the school's advisory council; and
 WHEREAS, With the utmost dedication to his profession and to
 his community, Mr. Dominguez has garnered the lasting respect and
 admiration of his colleagues and fellow citizens alike, and he may
 indeed reflect with great pride on his notable achievements and
 contributions; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Ernesto J. Dominguez on his receipt
 of the John E. Cook Pro Bono Award from the Hidalgo County Bar
 Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
 success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Dominguez as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
