| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Luke Davis has served as a trustee of the Richardson |

| 6 | 6 | | Independent School District since 2000, demonstrating admirable |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | dedication to his community and its children; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A former president and treasurer of the board, Mr. |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Davis completed the Leadership TASB program of the Texas |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Association of School Boards in 2004, earning certification as a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Master Trustee; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Davis is a graduate of the University of North |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Texas and has taught in the public school system, following a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | tradition established by two previous generations of his family; he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | earned his law degree from Texas Tech University with high honors |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and is an attorney with a Dallas law firm; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In addition to carrying out his school board |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | responsibilities, this respected civic leader gives generously of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | his time and expertise to a variety of community organizations, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | among them the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands, Young Life, and the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Leadership Richardson program of the Richardson Chamber of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Commerce; he is also a valued member of Lake Highlands United |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Providing young people with a quality education is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and through his achievements as a trustee of Richardson ISD, Luke |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Davis has earned the profound appreciation of his fellow Texans; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby commend Luke Davis for his exemplary service to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the Richardson Independent School District Board of Trustees and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his |
|---|
