| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Thomas and Francis Turner of Waco |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on May 8, 2008; |

| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Turner and the former Francis Sweeney were |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | joined in matrimony in Hillsboro on that special day in 1943; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | that includes two children, Terry and Tommy, as well as five |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the couple |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | have made their home in Waco for 62 years; Mr. Turner is retired as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | an administrator of Baylor University and contributes to the Waco |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Tribune-Herald as a columnist, and Mrs. Turner is a dedicated |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | homemaker; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Thomas and Francis Turner have enjoyed 65 years of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Thomas and Francis Turner on their |

| 25 | 25 | | 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
