| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, L. D. and Barbara Parsons of Waco |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Parsons were united in matrimony in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Mississippi in 1943; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | addition of two children, Merle Parsons and his wife, Barbara, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Vickie Gibbs and her husband, Tommy, as well as five grandchildren |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and six great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Parsons answered his nation's call to duty with |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Sinclair-Arco in 1985; Mrs. Parsons is a homemaker; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate L. D. and Barbara Parsons on their |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | continued happiness; and, be it further |
