| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Daniel and Betty Carroll of Waco |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 17, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2008; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll were joined in matrimony on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | that special day in 1948; through the years, they have been blessed |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | with a treasured family that includes three sons, Daniel and his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | wife, Ruby, Charles and his wife, Nursel, and John and his wife, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Pam, and seven grandchildren, Kim, Daniel, Brooke, Chris, Rachel, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Bethany, and Luke; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. |

| 16 | 16 | | Carroll are Southern Baptist missionaries who retired after four |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | decades of service at venues in Argentina and Jamaica, as well as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the Baptist Spanish Publishing House in El Paso; in retirement Mr. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Carroll has shared his time as the church librarian at Columbus |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Avenue Baptist Church, while Mrs. Carroll has taught Sunday school |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and worked as a Christian writer; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll have enjoyed six decades of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Daniel and Betty Carroll on their |

| 28 | 28 | | 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
