 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, David C. Tyson, Jr., has earned distinction through
 his service on the Board of Trustees of the Richardson Independent
 School District; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Tyson has been a member of the RISD board since
 2004, and he currently serves as the board's delegate to the Texas
 Association of School Boards and board liaison to the RISD
 Bi-Racial Committee; he has also served as treasurer of the board
 and as a member of the RISD Technology and District Planning
 Committees; and
 WHEREAS, Active with the Boy Scouts of America, Mr. Tyson has
 been a scoutmaster, unit commissioner, and chair of the RISD School
 Night for Scouting, and he is a member of the Circle Ten Council,
 BSA, and the National Eagle Scout Association; he is also a member
 of Hamilton Park United Methodist Church, the Lake Highlands
 Exchange Club, and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, and he is a founder
 of the Sankofa Foundation; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Southern University, Mr. Tyson is
 president and sales management consultant with Sales Trac, LLC; and
 WHEREAS, The active engagement of public-spirited citizens
 is vital to the successful governance of school systems throughout
 the Lone Star State, and David Tyson's dedication and commitment
 have greatly benefited the students of Richardson ISD; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend David C. Tyson, Jr., for his service to
 the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success in his important work; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Tyson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
