H.R. No. 1841
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Waco resident Lorenza
Garcia were deeply saddened by the passing of this esteemed woman on
February 28, 2008, at the age of 100; and
WHEREAS, Born on June 13, 1907, Mrs. Garcia was a native of
Mexico; one of 11 children, she grew up in the Lone Star State,
living in San Marcos before moving to Waco; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Garcia found great joy in her treasured family;
generous and kind, she cared for her mother, who was also blessed
with a long life, until her mother's death at the age of 112; and
WHEREAS, This compassionate woman enriched the lives of many
during her journey on this earth, and memories of her will be
forever cherished by those who were privileged to share in the
warmth of her affection and friendship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lorenza Garcia and
extend sincere sympathy to her loved ones; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lorenza
Garcia.
