| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Pernell and Audrey Peterson |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 18, 2007; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Pernell J. Peterson and the former Audrey Thompson |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | were united in matrimony at First Lutheran Church in Waco on that |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | special day in 1942; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | addition of their children, Patricia McElfish and her husband, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | John, Carol Blasche and her husband, Donald, and Thomas Eric |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Peterson, as well as six grandchildren, Donna, Michael, Erik, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Nathan, Jason, and Gavin, and two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Ashley; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Peterson is retired from Waco Printing Company |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and Mrs. Peterson is retired from the Texas State Commission for the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Blind; the couple are members of Saint Matthew Lutheran Church; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the course |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of their marriage, this devoted husband and wife have remained |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Pernell and Audrey Peterson on the |

| 27 | 27 | | notable milestone of their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to |
