44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned more
66 than half a century, Ivan and Brenda Ker of Waco celebrated their
77 50th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2008; and
88 WHEREAS, Ivan Ker and the former Brenda Clemons exchanged the
99 vows of matrimony at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Waco on that
1010 memorable day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, they
1111 have found in each other a devoted life partner; Reverend Ker has
1212 distinguished himself as a clergyman for more than 50 years, most
1313 recently serving as pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in
1414 Robinson, while Mrs. Ker has served congregants as a church
1515 secretary and pianist; and
1616 WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Ker are the parents of four
1717 children, Brenda, Jamie, Amy, and the late James Ivan Ker; today,
1818 they also enjoy the affection of eight grandchildren and two
1919 great-grandchildren, with whom they treasure sharing the many
2020 special occasions of life; and
2121 WHEREAS, Looking back over the past half-century, Reverend
2222 and Mrs. Ker may reflect with joy on their marriage and know that
2323 the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more
2424 joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Ivan and Brenda Ker on their golden
2727 wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2828 continued happiness; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Ker as an expression of high regard
3131 by the Texas House of Representatives.
