| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned more |

| 6 | 6 | | than half a century, Ivan and Brenda Ker of Waco celebrated their |

| 7 | 7 | | 50th wedding anniversary on June 27, 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ivan Ker and the former Brenda Clemons exchanged the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | vows of matrimony at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Waco on that |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | memorable day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, they |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | have found in each other a devoted life partner; Reverend Ker has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | distinguished himself as a clergyman for more than 50 years, most |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | recently serving as pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Robinson, while Mrs. Ker has served congregants as a church |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | secretary and pianist; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Ker are the parents of four |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | children, Brenda, Jamie, Amy, and the late James Ivan Ker; today, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | they also enjoy the affection of eight grandchildren and two |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | great-grandchildren, with whom they treasure sharing the many |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | special occasions of life; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Looking back over the past half-century, Reverend |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and Mrs. Ker may reflect with joy on their marriage and know that |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Ivan and Brenda Ker on their golden |

| 27 | 27 | | wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
