| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a |

| 6 | 6 | | century, David and Ann Cox of Lorena celebrated their 50th wedding |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | anniversary on January 5, 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Cox exchanged the vows of matrimony on |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | that day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, they have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | found in each other a devoted life partner; they count among their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | blessings a fine family that includes a son, Gary, a daughter, Lori, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and a son-in-law, Rick, with whom they treasure sharing the many |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | special occasions of life; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Cox family spent some 20 years in the U.S. Air |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Force, living in Japan and Thailand, and on a number of American |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | bases; after retiring from the military in 1976, they returned to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Lorena, where Mr. Cox enjoyed a second career with a major hotel |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | chain; Mrs. Cox worked with the Lorena United Methodist Church |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Child Care Center for 16 years and retired as its director in 1997; |

| 20 | 20 | | and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, David and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Ann Cox can savor a wealth of cherished memories and know that the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more joyful |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate David and Ann Cox on their 50th |

| 27 | 27 | | wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
