H.R. No. 1874
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bruce Mehlenbacher of Jacksonville was honored by
the Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District on April
24, 2009, for his outstanding conservation practices in cattle
production and for his financial support of county agricultural
operations; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mehlenbacher, senior vice president of
Southside Bank, has been in the cattle business for more than 16
years, and his operation has grown from five cows on 20 acres to 70
head of predominantly Braford cattle on 120 acres; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Jacksonville since 1990, Mr.
Mehlenbacher has shared his time and talents with numerous local
organizations, including the chamber of commerce, the Rotary club,
and the economic development corporation; moreover, he has served
as chair of the Salvation Army and as a trustee of the First United
Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Mehlenbacher enjoys the
love and support of his wife, Lisa, and their children, Matt and
Molly; and
WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to
excellence of Bruce Mehlenbacher have greatly benefited his fellow
citizens, and it is indeed fitting to honor him for his
contributions to the rich agricultural tradition of East Texas;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Bruce Mehlenbacher on his receipt
of a Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District award and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Mehlenbacher as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
