| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Mehlenbacher of Jacksonville was honored by |

| 6 | 6 | | the Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District on April |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 24, 2009, for his outstanding conservation practices in cattle |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | production and for his financial support of county agricultural |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | operations; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Mehlenbacher, senior vice president of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Southside Bank, has been in the cattle business for more than 16 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | years, and his operation has grown from five cows on 20 acres to 70 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | head of predominantly Braford cattle on 120 acres; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A resident of Jacksonville since 1990, Mr. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mehlenbacher has shared his time and talents with numerous local |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organizations, including the chamber of commerce, the Rotary club, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and the economic development corporation; moreover, he has served |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | as chair of the Salvation Army and as a trustee of the First United |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Mehlenbacher enjoys the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | love and support of his wife, Lisa, and their children, Matt and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Molly; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | excellence of Bruce Mehlenbacher have greatly benefited his fellow |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | citizens, and it is indeed fitting to honor him for his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | contributions to the rich agricultural tradition of East Texas; |

| 27 | 27 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bruce Mehlenbacher on his receipt |
