7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, After this catastrophic event left more than two |

8 | 8 | | million people without power, Office Depot responded quickly in |

9 | 9 | | order to ensure that the residents of Northwest Houston were able to |

10 | 10 | | have their vital needs met; the corporation donated food, |
---|
11 | 11 | | beverages, and hygiene items and coordinated its efforts with |
---|
12 | 12 | | Nourish America and the National Foundation for Women Legislators |
---|
13 | 13 | | to establish distribution centers, where it provided these |
---|
14 | 14 | | essentials to thousands of emergency workers and hurricane |
---|
15 | 15 | | survivors, including many Office Depot associates; and |

16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through its foundation, Office Depot also |

17 | 17 | | contributed to local business owners, and it offered such |

18 | 18 | | complimentary services as cell phone charging and fax machine, |

19 | 19 | | photocopying, and Internet access at its area stores; among those |

20 | 20 | | who led these initiatives were foundation president Mary Wong, |
