| 7 | 7 | | during the 2008-2009 school year; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Finishing their inaugural season with a notable 23 |

| 9 | 9 | | varsity trophies, the teams placed third overall in the Air Force |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Western National Drill Championships; moreover, the Blue Aces |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Unarmed Drill Team, commanded by Cadet Dawn Naville, became the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 2009 Air Force JROTC Varsity Unarmed State Champions in its first |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | season; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Blue Aces earned a perfect score in inspection |

| 15 | 15 | | and Cadet Naville was awarded first place in the commander |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | category; also placing first in inspection was the Nighthawks Armed |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Drill Team, led by Cadet Alex Zavala, while the lady Broncos |

| 18 | 18 | | finished second in exhibition, and the Color Guard Team, under the |

| 19 | 19 | | direction of Cadet Cambrey Sullivan, scored third place in color |

| 20 | 20 | | guard drill; and |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The outstanding young men and women of the Brandeis |

| 22 | 22 | | High School JROTC drill teams have demonstrated the importance of |

| 23 | 23 | | hard work and dedication in building an accomplished program; they |

| 24 | 24 | | are a source of pride to their school and community, and it is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | fitting to take this opportunity to recognize them; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Brandeis High School JROTC |
