44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Gene and Kay Wenzel of Woodway celebrated their 50th
66 wedding anniversary on April 26, 2008, and they may indeed reflect
77 with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; and
88 WHEREAS, Gene Wenzel and the former Kay Miller exchanged the
99 vows of matrimony at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco on that
1010 special day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, they
1111 have found in one another a loving life partner; Mr. Wenzel was an
1212 officer at First National Bank for 12 years and retired as president
1313 of Educators Credit Union after 40 years of dedicated service; Mrs.
1414 Wenzel worked as a Realtor in Waco for 27 years; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel count among their blessings a
1616 fine family that includes two sons and their wives, Steve and
1717 Melissa Wenzel and Brian and Shanie Wenzel, and four grandchildren,
1818 Katherine, Alison, Collin, and Amanda, with whom they share the
1919 many special occasions of life; the couple are members of Columbus
2020 Avenue Baptist Church; and
2121 WHEREAS, For half a century, Gene and Kay Wenzel have brought
2222 to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a
2323 pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
2424 therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Gene and Kay Wenzel on the
2727 milestone of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
2828 sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel as an expression of high regard by
3131 the Texas House of Representatives.
