R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Melanie Decker of Waco has been named the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 6008 Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009, and her
receipt of this notable accolade provides a fitting opportunity to
honor her; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Decker received the award from VFW Post 6008 at a
banquet held on December 9, 2008; and
WHEREAS, An English teacher at Midway High School in Waco,
Ms. Decker has inspired and energized her students, and she has
earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues with her
dedication to her profession and her commitment to excellence; and
WHEREAS, The young people of the Lone Star State benefit
greatly from the skill, knowledge, and enthusiasm of great
teachers, and with this award, Melanie Decker has gained
well-deserved recognition for her accomplishments; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Melanie Decker on being named VFW
Post 6008 Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009 and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Decker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
